Hi, in about a week i need to implement the follwoing and need to make sure i have all the documentation ready if i might need it.
The part i have not done before is to setup Hyper-V and VMM to use shared starage (IBM System Storage DS3400) for high availability.

    So my tasks:
Install and configure Win 2k8 ent R2 on Server A and B
Install and Configure Hyper-V on Server A and B
Create VirtualSRV1 for DC and Exchange Servers(Might use 2 separate servers if licensing allows it, know it is not recommended)
Add Hyper-V Servers to domain (Will Hyper-V continue to function properly while im adding servers to domain?)
    Create VirtualManagementSrv (VMM Workgroup Edition)
    Create VirtualSQLSRV
    Create VirtualAppSrv

One of my main worries is how do i get the VirtualSRV's to automatically move over to the other Hyper-V server if i lose a server?

    Thanks for your input!

    Hi,

    >> Did you mean you want to install Exchange on a DC computer, if so, yes, it is not recommended.

One of my main worries is how do i get the VirtualSRV's to automatically move over to the other Hyper-V server if i lose a server?

    >> If you want the Virtual Servers automatically move to another Hyper-V computer if one computer fail, you need to set Hyper-V Failover Cluster.

    1.    Set your two computers as Node 1 and Node 2 (if you have more computer, you can add more nodes)

    2.    Install Hyper-V and failover cluster on both nodes.

    3.    Connect both nodes to the share storage device IBM System Storage DS3400.

    4.    Create VMs on one node.

In addition, please verify the compatibility of IBM System Storage DS3400 with Windows Server 2008 and Hyper-V.
