    Hi,

Windows Server 2008 R2 has a share created with Share and Storage Management. The domain works OK and all the users were given Full Control permissions on the share. However, the user can delete only the files he himself put in the share. Nobody else can delete that file.

I need that everybody who were given Full Control to be able to add and remove all the files/folders in that share without any restrictions.

    How can I do that?

    Thanks,

    Dejan

    Hi,

The share permissions for the folder are set so that every user has Full Control, Change and Read.

I didn't touch NTFS permissons; it says that NTFS permissions are for users who access the folder locally and I have a domain. Maybe there I have to change permissions?

    Thanks for your help,

    Best regards,

    Dejan

I think what Meinolf is asking is for you to please post the view of the permissions to this news group including any special permissions.  It is probably inheriting a special permission for the folder above it in the tree.   If you want to try to right click the folder, properties, permissions,  advanced, Change permissions, UNCHECK the Inherit Permissions from Parent, and CHECK Replace all child objects permissions with permissions from this object boxes.  Click ok, when it asks to Copy or Remove the  permissions in place Click remove.   Then go back in and add the exact permissions you want to use with nothing propagating down the tree.

You can also use the CACLS command from a command window and pipe it to a text file then post your current permissions here.

    Good luck

    Hi Meinlof and Ted,

    Thank you for your assistance.

Here are the screen shots of the one share where I didn't aply Ted's solution. There I'm a member of Admin group but I can't delete the files I didn't put there.

On another share called NP I applied Ted's solution (BTW I probably did something wrong) and now I can't open the folder inside this share!

It's a bit confusing what I have to do in Share Permissions and what in NTFS Permissions dialog.

    Best regards,

    Dejan
