    Hi all,

encountered a bluescreen error when installing Windows server 2003 Standard edition on their HP ML370 G6 server, upon installation of different OS like win2k8 and win 2k8 enterprise installation process was okay. How do i properly install ML370 G6 server with a windows 2003 standard OS?

    tnx.

Could you please post what is mentioned in the BSOD screen?

It will give you an idea about the problem.

Have a look to these Bug Check Codes: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff542347(v=VS.85).aspx

Your BSOD is one of them so you have to find the exact one (Example: if you find 0x00000000000A that means  Bug Check Code 0xA).

Have you tried to use another install CD/DVD?

    Hello,

do you prepare the server with the SmartStart disk and choose Windows server 2003, that way the correct hardware drivers are chosen?

Yes, you need to download the smart start CD from hp vendor web site. Bootup your server with smartstart CD and try to deploy the Windows 2003 OS.

    1. Smart start CD x64 bit.

    2. Smartstart CD 32bit.

    Thanks

Installation of Windows Server 2003 Standard is successful after doing some CPU configuration on BIOS settings.

                    On BIOS Settings

CPU Configuration: “set this to Single Core” (prior to installation of Server 2003 OS)

Then after the installation of OS, install Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, and return the CPU Configuration on the default config, to maximize the CPU usage.
