    Hi!

    Would like to ask question about this situation.

    I'm Installing SAGE ERP 6.0 500 Edition and it is already done. When I'm already making my database for that application. there is a part of Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 gives me a windows indicating to connect to server. that requires me to input my Login and Password. Please see attached below. I Did choose SQL Server Authentication @ authentication.   Where can i get this Login and password. What do it mean?. before i click connect.

    PLEASE REPLY. I BEARLY NEED THIS.

    Also your query is something beyond the scope windows general forum to answer.Please seek help from SQL forums.

    Hi Louie Pio,

    By default's SQL Server use mixed authentification. So an Active Directory admin's account would be able to connect to it if you forgetted the SA's password. (And it auto add the username that SQL Server was installing under). (You can reset the password too)

    If it's a integrated SQL/MSDE/Express then you will have to ask the software vendor to get more help, as it would be pre-coded in it if it was installed when you installed the software.

    If you need to reset the password, or any more advanced question, I suggest the same thing as Ravikumar, as posting in the SQL's forum.

    By default's SQL Server use mixed authentification.

    The statement quoted above is not completely right !

    SQL server authentication mode is chosen during the SQL server setup, that being said, it depends on Admin's descrition to chose between the types of authentication modes viz: Windows authentication mode and mixed authentication mode.

    When SQL Server Authentication is selected, BUILTIN Local Administrators group will have SQL sysadmin role, so any account with local administrator will be allowed to log on to SQL.
