Hi guys, can anyone give an insight on this.
I have two workstations Win 7 and Win XP.
I have a site hosted locally on a Win 2k3 server.
Accessing the site externally, I mean outside our office LAN don't have any issues.
Users are able to access the site without a problem.
Inside our office LAN, i encountered some issues
That two workstations I mentioned above, intermittently if the use the url to connect to the site such as: www.myownsite.com they are not able to connect.
But if I use they private IP, they are able to connect.
And if I run ipconfig /flushdns or either restart the workstation it will work normally.
But the problem will come back again after a few weeks.
Is there any fix solutions for this?
I had check nslookup on our office LAN, is it able to resolve the local IP.
Does anyone encountered same problem before, please share your ideas on how to get around on this.
Thank you.
Every second counts..make use of it.

Hi,
Please go through with following points.
- Verify the Network Connectivity.
- Verify DHCP scopes if failed then try to use static IP
- Find out whether all users are affected on this machine or not?
- Check "DNS Client" Services is running or not, if running then find out where startup type set on (“manual” or “automatic”) (refer below image)

ping the url when you are not able to reach the site and check the ip adres. Some firewalls can't handle when you use an external ip adres that is using nat to connect to an internal ip adres.
A workground can be by creating a dns zone with www.myownsite.com and the internal ip adres
