What operating system? Are you saying the message is returned from disk controller bios? What is exact message?

Normal, your OS surelly does not have that controller driver installed IMO.
- If you can go back, re-install your old controller. Boot your OS, pre-install your new controller, and re-do your baremetal backup.
- If you can't, did you make your imaging with a tool like acronis ? They got a module that do a sysprep with the OS (universal restore). Other tool might have such option too.
- In worst case, do you got a backup done from windows backup backup feature's role ?
