Upgrading from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008

We've got a 10 year old server running Windows Server 2003 w/ SP2 as our AD controller. I'm looking at upgrading it to Windows 2008 Server. I know there are a few articles on this but I'm looking for some advice. Should I try to do an upgrade or build new server and install 2008?
Thanks,
Craig

Definitely build a new one then dcpromo and transfer roles over. Meinolf has a good document here.
Also as first build step AND last step before dcpromo run the system update readiness tool.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool?SignedIn=1
Then check the
%SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
file for errors. You want to be error free for sure.
