    Hello,

On Windows Server 2008 R2 in Event Viewer there is a warning: Battery Not Present,

    Source: MR_MONITOR, Event ID: 142, Task (4)

I tried googling it, but to no avail.

Can anybody tell me what this warning means?

    Hiya,

looks like Intel related monitoring. My guess it relates to the BIOS battery.

    change the BIOS battery :)

I presume its an old physical server?

That's the problem, server is brand new. (month or two)

I'll go next week to check it in BIOS. I was just wondering could this be some false alarm, or maybe firmware issue.

    Hello Ezekiell28,
I agree with Jesper it could be related to BIOS battery or firmware issue.

Which is your server's brand ? HP, Dell....? If you have Intel RAID, look at this PDF guide Intel® RAID Basic Troubleshooting Guide and search for "Battery Not Present" text inside.

    Bye,
    Luca
