I am new to the server world. There are many posts on this topic but none seem to answer my qustion exactly. I purchased a server with Windows 2008 Standard R2 (5 CALs) with 64GB so I want to upgrade to Enterprise to overcome the memory limitation. Many posts explain how to do this using DISM /online /Set-Edition:ServerEnterprise /ProductKey:xxx-xxx The problem is that I do not know exactly what to buy. What do I request from my vendor so that I can upgrade? The vendor does not seem to really have a clue.

Turns out I need Server 2012 standard and 5 2012 CALs. I was not sure which I needed. Turns out I need both. I can then downgrade to 2008 Enterprise as suggested in other threads.
