I would like to transfer the RID role.
I know the steps but my question is can this role be on the same DC as the infrastructure role? Windows Server 2000
I know its outdated but the bosses not gonna upgrade as yet.

PDC emulator, RID Master and Infrastructure master are the 3 domain wide roles you can keep in single DC. There won't be any problem at all.
The only thing you have to remember that if the DC holds infrastructure master role, it should not be a global catalog.

It's fine to have the RID Master and Infrastructure Master on the same DC, no mater the domain functional level.
