Hi All
I have a machine running with windows 7 enterprise 64 bit. Would like to setup an virtual environment so am looking for an option to install 2008 R2 on my windows 7 machine. Dont want to go for dual boot. Please suggest what should i do.
Windows virtual PC does not support 64 bit, Hyper-V is not there in Windows 7 apart from the console, trying Virtual Box now.

In my opinion, VirtualBox is the best solution for 64-bit guests in Windows 7.

Hi Ram,
I've used both Oracle VirtualBox and VMware Workstation and it works well! VMware has a bit more configuration capabilities, but just for testing they both work fine:
Oracle Virtualbox: https://www.virtualbox.org/
VMware Workstation: http://www.vmware.com/products/workstation/overview.htmlPlease use Mark as Answer if my post solved your problem and use Vote As Helpful if a post was useful. http://www.havardkristiansen.com

Saturday, January 19, 2013 6:06 AMStart using Windows 8 as its having Hyper-v role enabled and you may use all the operating systems. Since its a Microsoft forum and I am dedicated to Microsoft cannot advice you to go for the third parties.
