Windows 2008 R2 SP1 on vmware will not install IE9

Installed new Windows 2008 R2 SP1, ran updates, fails on Internet Explorer 9 install. Exit code 2? Other updates installed fine. Checked other posts with no success.

Hello,
It’s recommended that you ask in Internet Explorer forum.
For your reference, I would do the following for troubleshooting.
1. Download the standalone IE9 setup package. Make sure you download the correct version and the download is intact.

2. Disable the Antivirus protection if there is. Run the download IE9 setup file with elevated privilege.
And if still no luck, you can post the C:\Windows\IE9_Main.log and let’s see what's happening.Thanks
