hi all, I have a shred folder with a sub folder I need to make some permission changes to however the subfolder is inheriting permissions from the parent.

If I go into advanced and say not to inherit permissions from the parent I am faced with the following prompt.

If I select remove then this removes the creator owner and system groups and all permissions for them!! But also removes other groups I want removing which are being inherited!

Is it a problem removing creator owner and system or not?

I really don't want to make a mess of permissions! :)

When you select add, all the permission also the inherited are being kept, then you can remove the unwanted groups and users.

another solutions is to set the permissions to "This folder only" on the parent, then there is no inherited permissions on sub folders.

    Hello,

Yes, can remove the Creator Owner however, you must set at least a single user with FULL Access on the folder for administration....

Please refer below link for details...
