Hi,
We currently have a Single Label Domain (RENOQ).
We are using Windows 2003 Std and Exchange Server 2007.
We want to use Exchange 2013.
We can't install it, because we have a SLD.
This means, the first thing to do, is to get rid of the SLD and make it FQDN like RENOQ.LOCALI know that there is no rename for the domain name.
What is the best way, to transition from a SLD to a FQDN?

With the help of rendom.exe command you can accomplish it. To know more details about Domain rename please refer:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786120(v=ws.10).aspx
Also refer Ace Fekey's blog he gave info about pre & post domain rename steps.

Hi,
With exchange it is not possible.
If Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2007 is installed, it is not supported. Exchange 2000 can be upgraded to Exchange 2003, however Exchange 2007 will need to be removed prior to the procedure. More info below on Exchange 2007.

Can I install a new domain controller in the same environment using the name RENOQ.LOCAL ??
Would this get in conflict with each other??

No, You cannot install it with a new name. You can try creating a new environment and perform migration.
But ADMT cannot be used to migrate mail boxes.
Post your query in exchange forum also, you might get better responses from them.

Why not?
I have seperate hardware.
I would perform a new clean install, and name the domain: RENOQ.LOCAL
Afterwards, i would also do a clean install of Exchange and add it to the new domain. This would al be done on the same network, I would not change anything on the current domain.
My question is, would these 2 seperate domain (RENOQ and RENOQ.LOCAL) get in conflict with eachother??? -

You can have two domains separated by network, but you cannot create trusts.
You won't be able to establish the required trust if both have same domain names.
Before the Local Security Authority (LSA) creates the trust, the LSA verifies the consistency of the parameters. Between the new trust partner and all other domains that are in the same forest as the trust partner, the following items must be unique:
• The NetBIOS name of the domain
• The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain
• The security identifier (SID) of the domain
You cannot create the trust if one of the three items has duplicates.Regards,
