    Hello
I have built a home server out of some old computer parts as a sort of "home project". I have installed Windows Server 2008 from the Dreamspark website, and have accessed and saved the linked Product key. The install went smoothly, except for it didn't ask for the product key. (2008 is all I can install due to system compatibility)
Every time I start up this server it says "product is not activated". On the system properties page it says "Product Key is unavailable", and when I click on the "Activate Now" button, nothing happens.
Anything which I could do to sort it out??
    Many Thanks
    Jack

    You can try this:

Open a command prompt then type slmgr.vbs -ipk "Product Key"

You should receive a csript success message
Now run %windir%\System32\Slui.exe and follow normal activation instructions

Use this to check activation state : slmgr.vbs /dli
