  Has the update readiness tool been run without error?

  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool?SignedIn=1

  Then check the
  %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
  file for errors.

  2148204800 is 0x800B0100 in hexidecimal. Please refer to the below KB, run Windows Update Troubleshooter and System update Readiness Tool.

  Please try proceeding like the following:

  • Disable temprorary all security software on the server
  • Uninstall all unused programs
  • Do a clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796
  • Reset Windows Update components
  • Install System Update Readiness tool for your OS: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
  • Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
