    Hi All,

I have created an application which utilizes COM ports for transfer of data using a gsm based phone modem such as Nokia modem phones. I am able to perform the task on Windows 7 but in case of Windows Server 2008 R2 the modem device is not recognized even unable to register the drivers. Can anyone give me a solution that I can install the phone modem on server so that it can access the COM ports??.

Any hell will be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Please ask the GSM vendor to provide Win2008 driver. We can't do anything if the driver does not work. If lucky Win7 driver fit, but it does not seem to be your case. The vendor is your best bet.

    Hi Sushant,

Generally phone drivers install automatically when you connect GSM phone to server/system.If not you have to install drivers manually.

I suggest you download latest drivers from NOKIA official site install it into your server.

Note:Sometimes compatibility issue cause of this kind of problem, make sure your Phone supposed to support Windows server 2008 OS.
