Our server has Windows Server 2008 R2. When I am installing a third patry SW, I am getting below error.
error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation" error message when you try to install a Windows Installer package
I am installing from my user which has administration rights. Any help is appreciated to resolve this issue.

Yes for a SP
Did you try if you select the setup's file, and select run as admin. ?

Hello,
According to the link below, this problem could happen because of incorrect SYSTEM account permissions, corrupt installer file or locked file.
If possible, you can let us know the name and version of this software.
To dig deeper, I would suggest you enable Windows Installer Logging, run software installation again and collect the log for more details. Also check the Event Setup logs for research.How to enable Windows Installer logging
