RDP Problem
-
Monday, December 10, 2012 7:26 PMI have a XP Pro 64 bit user that is unable to RDP to a 2008 Terminal Server that I have set up. It worked previously. The error that is displayed is Remote Desktop Disconnected because of a security error. The client could not connect to the remote computer. Verify that you are logged on to the network, and then try connecting again. This is only happening while trying to connect to one Terminal Server. It works to other terminal servers, and other non terminal servers. There are plenty of licenses available. I was able to RDP from the terminal server to his PC, but not from his pc to the terminal server. I am not finding any events that point to anything out of the ordinary.

Monday, December 10, 2012 9:17 PMI went through most of this prior to posting. The user is able to RDP to other terminal servers without a problem, just an issue connecting to this one. The user is also able to connect using another PC, just not the pc that is normally used.

Monday, December 10, 2012 9:18 PMI should also note that the other terminal servers are using the same licensing server that the problem terminal server is using.

Did you check the authentication level? May need to lower it for XP client.

Or
if you already have higher version, try downgrading the rdc client on problematic machine
How to downgrade RDP client version 7.0

According to the error message, it should be related to security issues.
Most likely is about firewall or authentication issues.
Just a thought. Think you should check the differences between the problematic XP client and other have-no-problem-connecting XP client.
Thanks,
