I am having an issue installing Server 2003.  The BIOS recognizes the hard drives, but the Operating system says that there are no hard drives detected.

    Hello,

What is the type of the hard drive you use? SATA or IDE?

Did you ever try enabling SATA compatibility mode in BIOS?

Besides, I suspect this could be a device drive issue for Hard drive?

The hard drives are new and SATA.  They are 160 GB.  When I put the 1 TB hard drives in, it only recognizes those not the 160.  Doesn't matter where I plug the them into, it only recognizes the 1 TB.  The 1 TB is also SATA.

    Hi,

Can you please tell us if these hard drive can be recognized in BIOS?

Moreover, please run the following command in Windows Server 2003 R2, and test with unplug and plug the disk back to check if it can be seen in the OS.

    Mountvol /E

    Hope it helps.

The BIOS can recognize the hard drives.  When try to install windows server 2003, it says that there are no hard drives detected.  But when I go in the BIOS, it sees them.
