    Hello guys,

I am having a problem with my Intel server (R2308GZ4GC).

On this machine, there are 3 physical drives, all RAID0:

    Disk 1:    Windows Server 2008 R2

    Disk 2:    Windows Server 2012

    Disk 3:    VMs and utilities

In a nut shell, the problem we are having is that

    • Windows Server 2008 keeps shutting itself down.
    • In the Event Viewer there are no reports of any errors when it is restarted.
    • When I restart the system in Safe Mode, as soon as I get the <Ctrl+Alt+Delete> page, the system resets itself!
    • I don't have any problems with Windows Server 2012.

Also, you may want to take into account that:

    • Windows is up-to-date. Having said that, it should not be Windows Update that is causing the problem, since the machine is shut down and not restarted. What’s more, Automatic Update is turned off.
    • There were no problems during the Windows Setup.
    • All hardware is healthy and running according to Device Manager.

I once tried to install and use Microsoft Endpoint Protection, but it caused my system to crash and made it virtually unstable. It was then when I had to uninstall the application.

I read here that some people who had dealt with MS FEP had a similar problem.

I was wondering if someone could please help me solve this annoying problem. What's more, I want to check that MS FEP is the cause of my problem; and if so, that it is correctly removed from my system.

    Warm regards,

    Alireza @ iOmniscient Sydney

Might ask them over here about Forefront Endpoint Protection issues.

    Thanks Dave,

I will look through it. However, I keep receiving this error message in Even Viewer:

"Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected." The source is WMI and the Event ID is 10.

    Does it mean any thing?

I have already uninstalled the entire MS SQL Server 2008 from the system. However, I still get the same error message!

    I appreciate some help here.

    Thank you.
