    Hi, All

    I had a windows 2008 server configured as DHCP and installed Hyper-v. I also installed a windows 7 ultimate virtual machine. I bridged the wireless and network adapter. So, my virtual machines can access the internet. The DHCP is configured with IP 127.0.0.1. My windows XP VM can join the domain, but I had troubles in joinning windows 7 to the domain. The error is 'network path not found'. However, I can see the domain controller computer and xp machine in the network of windows 7 and I can connect to them. I also can ping the server and other computers in the network. I disabled IPv6. It is still does not work. My windows 7 is evaluation version. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, we don’t recommend that you install any other applications/roles on Hyper-V host machine, and we don’t support wireless network adapter on Hyper-V.

    Best Regards,

      127.0.0.1 is the loopback address. It means "this machine".  That is fine on the DC itself, but client machines must use the IP address of the DC/DNS server for the DNS address.

    Hi Bill;

    Thanks for your great help. I can join Win7 to the domain and remote it after I use the IP adress of DNS in windows 7 network connection. One more questions. Why the XP and Win7 have different IP for DNS when I ping the domain server? The win 7 gives 192.168.xx.xx, but the winxp gives 66.116.xx.xx.

    Thanks a lot!

    Eric
