It seems like as Windows 8 client supports Hyper-V (on x64 processors with virtualization assist technologies), it should support replication where either the primary or the replica server is running Windows 8, as long as there is sufficient storage. Is this assumption correct? I couldn't find any documentation that states this explicitly.

    Thanks.

Yes Windows 8 Client Hyper-V does not support Hyper-V Replica. But it is in Windows Server 2012 Standard/Datacenter and in the free Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2012.
