    Hello all,

We have Hyper-V Windows 2008 R2, a virtual machine hosts our fileserver running Server 2003. The performance has always been good, little hiccups, but recently it is often not responding and the response time to access a specific network drive is long. I updated the NIC, tried that, and rolled back, same result. We had some work done on our Firewall and I feel it's a DNS resolution issue or something. Any ideas where to look to fix this?

Any relevant errors in the event logs?  DNS would generally be a problem establishing the initial link.  After the DNS lookup, the system no longer uses the DNS name, so I doubt that a performance problem would be a DNS problem, particularly if it resolves.
