To comply with a DoD vulnerability fix, I changed the default Administrator name to a two-word name WITH A SPACE between the two words. The screen saver lock activated after a period of inactivity, and when I tried to log back in with the new two-word
username, the system did not seem to recognize the new name - or the old name "Administrator", which I had given to a decoy account that is disabled.
What would 2003 R2 x64 do with the space in a username syntax? We have tried every possibility we can think of, including substituting %20% for the space, but I remain locked out. I never changed the password, so I'm hoping that if we can figure
out how 2003 registers xxxxx xxxxx as a username, we might be able to save ourselves from a reload.
