Exchange 2010 setup doesn't recognize PowerShell V2 (CTP3) is installedI'm installing Exchange 2010 on a workgroup server to run the Edge Transport role. The setup routine doesn't recognize that Windows PowerShell V2 Community Technology Preview 3 (CTP3) is installed and of course won't let me move on to install Exchange. This version of PowerShell is required per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354(EXCHG.140).aspx (see Edge Transport section). I've tried this with and without the feature added, with SP1 and SP2, and with previous versions of PowerShell. I should also add that this server is running in a Hyper-V session. Any ideas? Thanks!© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. Thank you.
Sun, 05 Jul 2009 14:56:12 Z2009-07-05T14:56:12Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverpowershell/thread/0382d99d-53e0-456a-ab45-c0c5c82ea787#0cdc06b3-7f69-4f58-8bd7-84833d49dfadhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverpowershell/thread/0382d99d-53e0-456a-ab45-c0c5c82ea787#0cdc06b3-7f69-4f58-8bd7-84833d49dfadYew4439http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=Yew4439Exchange 2010 setup doesn't recognize PowerShell V2 (CTP3) is installedSame problem here but I know what happened - I installed Powershell v2 initially and as I was installing all the other 99 components required for ES 2010 I came across the PS in the Features section and installed that by accident thinking I had forgotten to install PS and so the old version got installed along with the new version! Now, despite having removed the old, exchange setup doesnt see that ps 2 is installed so I removed it and now it wont reinstall - when I get past the eula the window disappears as if the process is killed. The variety of issues never cease to amaze me!Thu, 09 Jul 2009 03:03:38 Z2009-07-09T03:03:38Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverpowershell/thread/0382d99d-53e0-456a-ab45-c0c5c82ea787#f585d916-502b-4d0c-a06b-1f9299d8f864http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverpowershell/thread/0382d99d-53e0-456a-ab45-c0c5c82ea787#f585d916-502b-4d0c-a06b-1f9299d8f864SChimnerhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=SChimnerExchange 2010 setup doesn't recognize PowerShell V2 (CTP3) is installedThanks for the input Yew4439. Have you been able to resolve this? I am starting from scratch with a Windows 2008 Standard x64 SP2 guest in Hyper-V, following the pre-reqs (and not activating PS as a feature), however, this time I will be installing an updated version of Exchange 2010 (621-03), whereas previous attempts were under build 601-00. Hopefully this resolves the problem. I tried numerous things and was never able to resolve the issue and figured since I had a base virtual guest I would start over. If this fails, I may try the install on a physical server. Keep me posted and thanks again for the info!

Note: My physical host is running the same version of the OS, however, I have not yet installed SP2. There may be a connection there as well, but I'll consider that if the above doesn't work.Thu, 09 Jul 2009 19:51:49 Z2009-07-09T19:59:01Z
