I have been trying diligently to add a Chinese language bar to a user on a lab(commonly used pc) i have added the east Asian language pack and can type in Chinese on my account (domain admin rights) BUT, the user, (no rights) cannot add any additional languages, I am looking for about 4 users to add a IME in Chinese pinyin keyboard so that they can left alt shift to get the second keyboard, being new to the forum here, and being only 18, i am going to need some step by step instructions i have heard that i may need to add a login script. the current error i am getting on the two pc's is that i can see the language bar, but when i go to edit the settings portions, those users do not have rights, my company would like to keep the users with no rights
    any help is appricated

    Hi ITINTERN,

Based on my test, computer normal user account should be able to modify language bar on Windows XP system. Did you follow the below steps to change language when you logon other non-admin users?

    1) Start, Control Panel, Regional and Language Options
    2) Chose Language Tab
    3) Click details
    4) Settings Tab
    5) Under Installed Services
    6) Click on the Keyboard and click add
    7) Choose the <language> of choice.
    8) Then click Key Settings
    9) Choose Switch to English (US) and the <language> which you chose

    10) Click ok
    11) in the lower right hand corner of your screen by the systray, you now can chose which layout you wish.

If the above steps do not work for those users, I would suggest you initial a new thread in our XP pro forum. The community members and support professionals there are more familiar with XP Operation System and can help you in a more efficient way.
