  Yes, just insert the W2K8 installation disk and choose the upgrade option. Have your W2K8 Ent key ready.

  Is this possible with Windows 2003 as well? The way I understood it was that it was a complete rebuild. Is this new in 2008?

  No, this method cannot be used on Windows Server 2003.

  now i have a Windows 2008 Enterprise Trial installed.
  i want to change that activation key with the new key that i got with the purchase of the Windows 2008 Standard version without disturbing the present Trial
  install .
