WSUS and Skype 5.9.32 and 5.10.0 update not applied

We currently run Skype with the Business version 5.9.32.114 and not 5.9.0.114
How do we go about getting the latest version deployed using WSUS?
kb2727727 is synced but has status "installed/not applicable" for the 400 clients.
If I install the consumer version 5.9.0.114 the update to 5.10.0.116 is provided from WSUS

Hi,
It seems that kb2727727 is the only available update for skype.Pls approve kb2727727 on the WSUS to see whether it has been downloaded and installed by clients. You can go thru the reports to see whether the kb has been installed on the client side. Also,go to the clients machine to see whether the skype has been updated with the latest version. There are another way to get the update:Via the Update function in the Skype application:
- In the menu bar, select Help > Check for Updates.
- After checking the version, click Download, then click Upgrade.
*Skype will automatically be updated only on PCs where Skype is already present. It will not be automatically installed on any PC that doesn’t already have Skype.
You can try the both ways to check whether your skype has been update to the latest version. To install Skype 5.10 for Windows, you can als Download the latest version from the Skype web site.Regards,
Clarence

Hi clarence
As I wrote: The version I have instaleld on my clients are 5.9.32.xx and not 5.9.00.xx (note the 32 and 00 are marked with bold)
That means I have the the business version (.32) and not the consumer version.(.00.) installed on 400 clients.
If I manually install version 5.9.00.xx the update to 5.10.00.xx are provided by the WSUS server without any problems.
How do I provide the update to my clients?

It may not a WSUS issue.I don't know whether if 5.9.32.xx can be installed with kb2727727. Could you confirm with the skype team support for this issue?Did you tried to manually install the kb2727727 on the client side for 5.9.32.xx client?Wsus is a platform just to distribute the updates from other product team.If it is just an individual issue with skype and all the other update distributions are great, then skype forum may be more appropriate to ask:http://community.skype.com/t5/English/ct-p/English

Hi Clarence
You might be right,
It may not be an issue with the WSUS itself.
I will confront the Skype Team to ee if they have some ideas.

This does seem to be a deficiency in the current Skype packaging/publishing realm.
1. Skype uses different build numbers for consumer and business releases.
2. The Skype team only packages the *consumer* version for distribution via WSUS. (Go Figger.)
I can see only making the *consumer* version available via WU/MU, but shucks.. to publish a *business* version and then not package an update suitable for use with that *business* version... just don't get it.
Complaining to the Skype product group seems like an appropriate course of action. :-)
