    Hello,

Have you checked the WindowsUpdateLog? Also try to ping the wsus ip/address to see if it answers.

    Good luck!

    Hello,

You will find the update log in %windir%\windowsupdate.log on the client.

There you will be able to find more information.

    Good luck!

    Try this solution:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-Us/windows-vista/Windows-Update-error-800B0001

Do you have installed KB2720211 on the WSUS? If not, pls install
    KB2720211.

What version of WSUS do you have?

I considered the same question, but then I noticed that the Win2008R2 client is being reported as a Win2008R2 system, which means the WSUS server must be WSUS v3 SP2.

Which leaves us with an "unhealthy" or "customized" WSUS installation as the most likely cause for the inability to install the update.

    Hi Lawrence Garvin,

I am having most recent ver of wsus.  please help.

Given all of the above information, my educated guess would be that you're trying to install the x86 patch on to an x64 (Win2008R2) server.

The update kb2720211 has some known issues and may seem unstable under some environments.

In case if you encounter WSUS crashes or non functionality or any other errors refer following link:
