The update could not be found. Either the update is not applicable to this computer or the update no longer exists. Verify that the update still exists and is applicable to this computer from your WSUS server or Windows Update.

    Hi aurimas,

Could you please provide the OS version of your WSUS server?

If you want to add the WSUS role via Server Manager On Windows Server 2008, When you try to add the add role from servermanager its try to download the WSUS SP1 to install

Please check the below registry key make sure its set the MU site for downloading the patches

    HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

Or Download the WSUS SP1 manually from the using the KB
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948014/en-us -
“Description of the Windows Server Update Services 3.0 Service Pack 1 package”

    Hope this helps.

Perhaps you could explain exactly what you have done, and what you're doing it on?

Based on the information provided, I cannot even speculate on the possible nature of your issue, much less a solution.

    > not so much I did, just installed mcs

    Please define "mcs".

    > installed wsus and not configured it,

Why did you "not configure" it? Certainly it's not going to work until you configure it.

If you are using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), then you should be asking this question in the =SCCM= forums.

Even if you're not using SCCM, you've still not answered any questions, or provided sufficient background information for us to help you. This is a TEXT based help scenario. In order for us to help you we need to understand your situation. In order for that to happen, you need to explain, in writing, in this thread, exactly what your complete scenario is.

Merely asking a question and providing no background information makes it impossible to provide an intelligent, reasoned answer -- thus my original response from two weeks ago, which is still pending an answer.

Thank you. This is something we can start to work with.

First, have you reviewed and followed the WSUS Deployment Guide with respect to the installation and configuration of IIS7 on Windows Server 2008?

Second, have you reviewed and followed this blog post with respect to the installation of WSUS on Windows Server 2008?

    http://blogs.technet.com/wsus/archive/2009/01/16/installing-wsus-3-0-sp1-through-window-server-2008-sp1-server-manager.aspx

Third, what exactly gave you the message "The update could not be found.".
