SCCM 2007 R3 Power Management & WOL
-
Saturday, February 18, 2012 11:01 PMI have just installed SCCM 2007 R3. I have enabled WOL and pushed out the Power Managent client. My questions are what else to I need to do (either on the PCs or SCCM Server) to get WOL to work. And how can I test a PC to see if it successfully powers on from an off state? Also, do I need to manually go into each computers BIOS to enable WOL? And finally, do I need to install the Out of Band Server role to get all this to work?

WOL and Power Management are not really related features in ConfigMgr. In order to get WOL to work you need to ensure that theclient is WOL enabled and that the infrastructure (routrs, swtiches) supports WOL.
