Standard Vs Enterprise !
Hello.
Previously with TMG beta one and two, there was no standard and enterprise versions of TMG, why with TMG beta three this change ?For example, in Tarek's article (http://www.elmajdal.net/ISAServer/Installing_Forefront_Threat_Management_Gateway_Beta_2.aspx) "As you may have noticed, the concept of Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition is no more available with Forefront TMG. There are new terms that we will have to get used to them , such as Standalone Server, Array Manager, Standalone Array, Enterprise Management Server (EMS). You might find it misleading at the current moment. Don't feel that, later on we will get used to these terms, and they will be covered in future articles. To give you a brief illustration, at the moment I'll be installing a Standalone Forefront TMG server. "
and i've seen this also on different forums and blogs as well, but now I feel myself lost why this was not illustrated before ! that there will be a standard and enterprise editions again !and where can we find any difference between the two ?

- Hi,
Beta 3 has Standard and Enterprise capabilities as ISA Server 2006.
The difference is:

www.it-training-grote.de Hello Marc,
As you can see, in the above links, non talks about stand bs enterprise edition, or why this sudden change in plans.non of the articls previously or blogs mentioned anything about this. whereas for example, URL filtering, was introduced in beta 1, and then removed from Beta 2 and it was clearly mentioned that its going to be reintroduced in Beta 3.
- Hello Nathalie,
OK, this is correct, I thaught you asked for the whole new different names in TMG. An overview about the difference between the two versions is IMHO not available yet.

www.it-training-grote.de - so TMG beta 3 is released, and no one have an official difference between standard and enterprise ?
- Hello,
You can find the difference between standard and enterprise edition here :
http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/edgesecurity/isaserver/en/us/editions.aspx - A Doc explaining difference between SE and EE is in the works and will be released to the ISA team blog site.
SE was added to beta 3 based on feedback from customers .
SE has a local storage for configuration. SE cannot have more than 1 server in the array ( either local or in EMS)
SE can join to an EMS , so that the single member array configuration can be managed from EMS.
SE can be upgraded to EE with a valid EE PID.
If you have any specific questions , please let me know i will provide answers.

- Hello Bala, I've not seen any webcast that discusses this change, specially on connect website as well, did we miss any survey that discuss this issue ?
- I dont think you missed any . It looks like this item jumped the list of changes for no particular reason.

--------------
SE can join to an EMS , so that the single member array configuration can be managed from EMS.
-----------
The scenario of adding SE to EMS is not working/supported scenario for Beta 3. It will be added at the time of RC
I got couple of issues reported already with this and so i thought i will post it here and share it with everyone
Thanks
