- It could be you're running out of disk space, what percentage of disk space do you have free on your main drive?
Thanks,

If you're on Vista, did you try logging off and logging back in?

- So can you tell me specifically what your problem is? Can you see any network interfaces listed in the Select Networks window? If so do you have a valid network selected? Are you able to start a capture? Or maybe you can't even start Network Monitor?
Also let me know what OS you are on.
Thanks,
Paul - I'm a different person, but I'm having the same problem.
The weird thing is that it was working a couple weeks ago. I went on vacation, and now it's blank.
I start MSNetMon, click "New capture tab", and start. No filters, all my network adapters are selected, and these are the same steps I followed two weeks ago.
The "Network Conversations" box on the left says "Waiting for network traffic..." and nothing changes.
2 weeks ago, the second I clicked Start I got all kinds of data pouring in.
I've tried stopping all non-essential windows services and even killing tasks in the Task Manager, then restarting MSNetMon and trying again. No change. It's just blank.
Japanese WinXP Pro, here. Latest version of MSNetMon 3.2. If you're on Vista, did you try logging off and logging back in?

- In my case, 66GB free, and XP, and I've rebooted several times.
I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling NetMon. - Well this is interesting.
It works if I do the following:
1) open up my network adapter properties and uncheck the Network Monitor protocol
2) save
3) open up my network adapter properties and re-check the Network Monitor protocol
4) save
5) start Network Monitor and begin a capture
I can close and re-start the application any time now, and it keeps working.
However, if I reboot, it stops working again, and I have to follow those steps to fix it.
This implies something is corrupted, but I have no idea where to look. - That's very interesting and the first time I've actually heard somebody trying this.
Does restarting the driver change things? ("net stop nm" followed by "net start nm" at the command prompt).
I wonder if there's any software installed that may be interfering. Do you have things like firewall, Virtual machine software, or any other third party networking tools that might be involved? - Hey Everybody, Again.Thank you all for your concern and help :-)I'm running Windows XP Pro service pack 3 fully updated. in IBM ThinkPas T60 160GB HD , 2GB RAM.Netmon 3.3 also 3.2 are running for me and I see 4 items in the network interfaces window.1- Check Point Virtual Network Adapter For SecureClient - SecuRemote Miniport2- Intel(R) PRO/1000 PL Network Connection - SecuRemote Miniport3- Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945BG Network Connection - SecuRemote Miniport4- Dialup ConnectionNow I'm trying to cpature traffic that that I'm doing on my Wireless adapter 3rd in the list and I also tried to work P-Mode too.The capture process is started and I have traffic to active in the adapter but nothing showing in the capture window. As you can see I have CheckPoint SecuRemote installed I also have tried to unbind it from the network adapter. Thanks for your help againWissam

- Glad you got help, wissamgh. I'm still stuck. Changing the capture limit to size instead of percent doesn't fix the problem for me.
@Paul E Long:
Net stop/start nm doesn't work, but actually opening the network properties GUI and disabling/enabling the protocol DOES work. Until I reboot.
I disabled firewalls and any services I could think of, then ran Task Manager and killed a few more, and nothing fixes this. It's very weird.
I do have a "VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter" network adapter installed, but it uses the same physical NIC. But if I run NetMon from inside a VM, it works properly.
Perhaps something about the virtual NIC is annoying NetMon? That very well could be. Is there a way to disable or uninstall this VirtualBox driver for testing?
Where does this VirtualBox come from?
