When I try to uninstall it says it is corrupt and to reinstall from the cd or file and when I do that it completes but still says it is corrupt when I try and uninstall. Any ideas?

To uninstall Office 2010 14.0.4302.1000 if you have an uninstall error message "This product installation has been corrupted".
The Problem is a missing file in the installation folder of office 2010. Office 2010 has an Setup Controller directory and uses the directory to check the installed components. please check the directory  "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup Controller\Groove.en-us\". if you have no "Setup.xml" file there please copy the file from the "Groove.en-us" directory of the source files to this directory and test the uninstallation again.

Just thought I would post this as I was only able to get Mondo build 4302 removed on 4 out of 5 computers using just the method of copying setup.xml.

On the last machine after build 4302 said it had successfully uninstalled I could still not install build 4417 and received the same error about having to remove previous versions. I had already tried reinstalling and removing again and deleting folders and registry entries.

The Microsoft uninstall cleanup utility from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/ showed an entry for Office 2010 Mondo still and I was able to remove that and get build 4417 installed.

Just thought I would post this in case others still get errors about older pre-release versions existing and are unable to try build 4417.

Which build number are you using?
You can apply the same method as manually uninstalling Office 2007. Just
    note the version difference ;-)

This was common with a falsely labeled leaked Office 2010 Beta1.  Use the manual uninstall method or do a system restore to before you installed it.

    Hi Vikas,

I can't try your solution because i have already deleted the source files from my computer...
Is there any way that you could send me the Setup.xml so i can put it on the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup Controller\Groove.en-us\" directory? Vi rapidshare, megaupload or if you want by mail.

    Regards.

I had the same problem (I had both problems in this thread).

Seems that we've uninstalled Windows Search AFTER installing Office Mondo.

Anyway, I solved my problem just re-installing Windows Search then Uninstalling Office 2010.

mennodings: Windows 7 has Windows Search included as part of the OS.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Choose Large icons and click on Administrative Tools (I can never find anything in category view). Click on services.

Accept any UAC warnings and scroll down to "Windows Search" and check if it says disabled next to the service. If it does right-click on it and choose properties. Under startup type choose automatic or automatic (delayed start) which I believe is the default and press start and OK.

Otherwise if the service just says stopped just right-click it and choose start.

If the service refuses to start, right-click it and choose properties and click on the Log On tab and choose the "Local System Account" option and try to start the service again (if you still get an error starting the service try posting it here).

Now try again to remove Office Mondo.

Let us know how it goes!

I have another problem. I installed Office 2010 mondo to prove it, then I uninstalled this to try the beta 2 of office14 only that I could not install it because it gives me this error: :

"Setup is unable to proceed due to following error(s:
Micorsoft Office 2010 does no support upgrading from prerelease version of Microsoft Office 2010. You must first unistall any prerelease versions of Microsoft Office 2010 products and associated technologies. Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup."

I uninstalled some files manually, but the problem persists. How can I solve it ?
    thanks

    Hello AngeloZap.

Did you try the Microsoft uninstall cleanup utility from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/?

I got the same error on one of my machines and this utility showed an entry for Office 2010 Mondo after uninstallation and I was able to remove that and then build 4417 installed without any problems.
