Answered W7 FSX Bug

There appears to be a bug with adding scenery to the FSX Scenery Library when running under Windows7 RC 64. The normal procedure of using the ADD button and then navigating to the desired scenery location results in a "Scenery Not Found" message.
I have found a workaround but ideally the bug should be fixed.

    OK, heres the workaround.

Instead of clicking on the scenery folder and clicking add ,
now you need to click on the scenery folder, click add,
then right click anywhere in the white area of the folder .

The fix is now circulating several major flightsim forums.

    Hi Rod

If you have a workaround for the problem please post a detailed description of the problem and the fix you found.

This could help other FSX users here who may have the same issues.

    Thanks,

Thank You for testing Windows 7

    Thanks, you saved me.

    A little clarification:

In settings choose Scenery Library, click Add Area, then locate your folder and select it.

The full path will show as: Directory (left of the OK button).

Click OK, in Vista this returned, in Windows 7 it clears the Directory window and shows the Scenery and/or Texture folder names.

Now right click somewhere in that large white area below the folder names and the area is added. Only the right click is new, but vital.

How in the world did you work this out, Rod?

Happy flying and support BlueSkyScenery, Jim

Actually, you can right-click or left-click. Either way works... :)

This work around no longer works in Win 7 64 - any other fixes out there?

This worked for me on FSX in Win 7 64:

    Add Area

Locate your folder and select it

Right click the folder name  and copy it when it appears Next to OK button.

Click OK. The folder name goes blanck and you see the scenery and texture folder.

    Click on the scenery folder.

Paste the folder name back in the field where you copied it.

You may add a scenery name in the bottom fiels.

    Click OK

The new scenery appear in the scenery list.

The new sceney works with the right textures.

Hope this can be of any help.

That's certainly news to me. I've been using the same procedure for nearly two years on my two Win7 x64 systems... ;)

This workaround is no longer valid. FSX now gives me a fatal error when choosing the Addon Scenery folder. Please help!
