read only files
- I am using windows 7 ult. - it keeps setting my files to read only - I uncheck the 'read only' in properities but it just keeps reseting it - I have also tried the 'attrib' cmd without any effect. Hope someone can tell me what to do.

What's the file? Sometimes the read-only attribute is by design. If you want to modify this attribute, I would like to share the following KBs, it may be helpful.
You cannot view or change the Read-only or the System attributes of folders in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP, in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Can you still write to the files ok. If you are looking at the properties of a folder then it does indicate read only but the files inside can still be written to
