Problems with Xerox Workcentre 3119 - Please help!
I´ve just installed Windows 7 and in the compatibility test I received a message that I needed to run windows update to make my Xerox Workcentre 3119 compatible.
There is one problem. Even after the update, it just doesn´t work. there wasn´t any update referring to the printer.
Now I tried uninstalling the printer and installing the 64bit vista driver again, but it stops in the middle with a compatibility problem.
I´ve tried even running it as an Administrator and in the compatibility mode, but no success.
Can anyone help me?

- Sorry can't help except to say I have same problem with a xerox phaser 6110. Currently waiting for xerox to respond to my query for updated driver - suggest you raise the query with them. Have also tried your actions - no success.
- Hi
I ran into the same problem as you and I was urgently seeking a remedy as I need my printer as an undergraduate.
Problem was I upgraded to Windows 7 x64 without checking if Xerox released the driver already or not.
Anyway I am here to report my success in getting my WC3119 working under Windows 7. Please try it and see if it works for you too.
1. Obtain the Vista drivers from Xerox. Extract and do not install.
2. Obtain the (latest) Vista drivers from SAMSUNG for the model SCX-4200 .. I suspected this as the xrxe1u config file as provided by GDI Xerox actually references to the samsung driver.
3. Go to the GDI folder of the samsung package, then your OS(x32 or x64) folder and open suge1. I cross-referenced to xrxe1u and did the following modification:
; Model section for Windows 2000 and XP
[MODEL.ntamd64.6.0]
"Samsung SCX-4200 Series" = DRVINSTALL, LPTENUM\SamsungSCX-4200_SeriD388
"Samsung SCX-4200 Series" = DRVINSTALL, USBPRINT\SamsungSCX-4200_SeriD388
"Xerox WorkCentre 3119 Series" = DRVINSTALL, LPTENUM\XeroxWorkCentre_3119C525
"Xerox WorkCentre 3119 Series" = DRVINSTALL, USBPRINT\XeroxWorkCentre_3119C525
this will make your Xerox be regconisable (pardon my spelling) by the installation.
4. Do a manual installation via the "Have Disk" method, pointing to the samsung installation. I got a unsigned warning (expected) but the installation went through without the "kernel-mode" error.
Tried it on Win7 x64, Samsung Vista/2003 40mb++ driver vesion 3.01.06.06 successfully.
Pls drop me an email at songwee [at] gmail [dot] com to share your potential success!

Hi
Well, I also did as what you said. However, it doesn't work. Eventually, I didn't have any problem until process 4.

I also got a warning, but I also got a kernal-mode error.
I hope xerox can solve this problem soon.
