Second domain controler with W2K3Server 32bits when the primary is W2K3Server X64 ... possible ?
- I have a Primary Domain controles with Windows 2003 Server 64bits R2.
I want to have a second DC in case the primary one falls. Is it possible ?
I have tried with a virtual machine and is giving a problems win DNS, but everything is ok about it.
Some Idea ?

I tried with the DCDIAG and it does not resolve. There was a problems with DNS. (But the nslookup was conecting OK ..¿?).
I delete all de DNS configuration in de DC primary and rebuild it since the begining.

- It's not only possible but highly recommended. Make sure that you configure the server you will be promoting to the second DC such that it points to the DNS server on the first DC as its primary (assuming that you are using AD-integrated DNS)...

Ok, The new server (secondary one) is already into the domain and it points to the primary one.
If I do a nslookup, it respond perfect, but when I try a dcpromo, it give me an error. It say that can not find the DNS server. But nslookup work OK and the server is into de domain !!.
Some one has tell me that the problem could be that my Primary DC is W2K3 server x64 R2, and the second is W2K3 standard server, Not R2. A friend has told me that both must be R2...
Some Help ?- That's not the case.
Post the dcpromo.log (%SystemRoot%\Debug) and IPCONFIG /ALL from both servers...

I tried with the DCDIAG and it does not resolve. There was a problems with DNS. (But the nslookup was conecting OK ..¿?).
I delete all de DNS configuration in de DC primary and rebuild it since the begining.
