Configuration QuestionI have a HP DL-185 Storage Server (running Windows Storage Server) with 1.2TB of disk space. I have 2 BL-460 blades as VM Hosts running Windows Server 2008 DC (64-bit) but I'm only utilizing one at present. There is a possibility of adding 2 more hosts. The VMs I'm creating are using approximately 40GB of disk space.

I formatted the entire 1.2 TB but only present 120GB to the first VM host. I'm now wondering what the best practices would be. Should I present the entire 1.2TB to the first VM and all subsequent VM hosts or carve up smaller chucks to each host? Will this imapact my ability for setting up a clustered environment or moving VMs from one host to another?

© 2009 Microsoft Corporation.
