I'm optimistic that I'm posting this in an appropriate forum?

A few years ago I found a Microsoft document (possibly Cable Guy?) / white-paper / guidance note that was titled something like "The ethos of good administration". It summarised administrative best-practice;... only make one change at a time, visit the server console as a last resort, never do your day-job with an administrative privilege level, script for consistency, etc...

…Only, I can no longer find this type of material as a concise guide.

    (1)   Does anybody know where I can find such material?

    (2)     Is there an area in MOF that could provide this?

    Thanks for any help…

    Hello naID,

Yes, if you are talking about best practice this is right place J

Unfortunately I don’t know this document, so now I want this too, I’m looking for this, but if you find share with us, please.

Is there an area in MOF that could provide this?

You can take a look on System Administration and others SMFs in MOF 3.0, and take a look on Operations SMF in MOF 4.0. This is not all, but can drive you.

    Hope that helps
