    Hi,
Can I disable the downlevel text (with time/place) in Meeting Request? (Outlook 2003/2007).
    I have a Exchange 2007 Organization.
    I'm talking about this (example):

When: jueves, 12 de noviembre de 2009 14:00-14:30 (GMT+01:00) Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris.

    *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

    In this article:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee158061.aspx#endNote44

    said:

"The term "downlevel text" refers to extra text that can be added into the body of a Meeting Request object before a copy of the Meeting object body, so that a client that receives the Meeting Request object but does not understand its format will still show the meeting details"

It's ok, but my clients are Outlook 2003 & Outlook 2007, configurated as normal mapi clientes.

    Can anybody help me?

    Thanks!!

    Rafa

    Hi,

That's by design in Exchange 2007.

After research and check, this line is related to the information of the sender side. The text is generated by the organizer information when sending the Meeting Request, and is in the time zone that the organizer chooses. The text is inside the body of the meeting request.

The purpose of the text is to allow non-outlook clients and and downlevel client to see the meeting details. The information about the GMT +X(Location) after the time in the body is to help attendees to recognize the actual time the Organizer created the meeting in.

In exchange server 2003 environment, the calendar items are processed by the outlook sniffer. Outlook shouldn’t display that information, it’s correct in exchange server 2003 environment.

However, in Exchange 2007, the calendar items are handled by the calendar assistant which will add the information to the PR_BODY of the calendar item. Then outlook will display it and doesn’t know whether the information should be hidden or not. Thank you for your understanding.

    It's not a development request.
When I had Exchange 2003, it didn't happend.
When we migrated to Exchange 2007, it started.
Anybody knows anything about it? It's a Exchange 2007 problem? issue? known problem? configuration?
    anybody knows why it happens?
    Thanks
