CAS Array....When??

Hi...I set up windows network load balancing prior to installing the CAS and Hub Transport roles on my two servers. I then created the 'client access array' active directory object after the CAS/HT install. Now, I realize that most of the articles on this say to set up NLB and the CAS array after Exchange roles have been installed. If this is correct, what do I need to do, if anything?? I'm not sure if it's causing problems or not and not exactly sure how to find out if it is or not??
Any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that should cause a problem yes both nlb and cas array should be configured after CAS\HT is installed just as order of operations but don't think it will mess anything up. As long as you've rehomed any databases to the cas array and your outlook clients are pointing to the CAS array and the casarray.company.com IP is pointing to the NLB.
Are you experiencing any issues?

Hi
I don't think you will have any problems from a NLB point of view, you will need to update the RpcClientAccessServer value any mailbox databases that were created after the CAS array was configured though.

Thanks for the reply James...as I said, I'm not sure if it's causing any problems or not at this point. We had some problems getting the mailbox servers up and running so we haven't completed the migration yet, haven't set up databases or our DAG yet, so we haven't moved any mailboxes to the new mailbox servers. All current clients are able to access their mailboxes on the old mailbox server and OWA and Outlook Anywhere clients are working fine.
I just want to know if this will cause any problems when we do finally get the mailbox servers and DAG running..??

No I think you should be fine. I would suggest creating a few mailboxes on your 2003 environment and moving them over to 2010. Use them as much to test failovers and NLB before any real mailboxes get moved.
Cheers, Steve

I'm actually going from 2007 to 2010, but yes, definitely will test with test user accounts before moving any real mailboxes.
Thanks Again...
