Hi all,
We have Lync standard FE, one archiving server and one SQL 2008 server set up.
Now, we need to add conferencing role to the exisiting deployment.
Can anyone provide me the steps to add conferencing? BTW, can we do
group video conferencing with Lync server?
Thank you.

Are you sure this wasn't turned on when first installing? (its like 2 clicks...;-)
If not, Just go into topology builder and enable it and publish topology:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398531Yes, lync can do multiparty video, where the current and last speaker are shown.
In current version of Lync you need 3rdparty hardware or host solution to do "bradybunch" video conferencing.Hosted "bradybunch" option:

Do meetings work? Check that first. (just drag 3 people into a meeting)
That button is enabled at Lync client install.

Hi,
make sure that you have A/V conferencing service started in windows services. and try "meet now" option in lync client and try adding several users.

Hi,
1. After defining the A/V Conferencing Server in Topology Builder and publishing it, you need to install the Local Configuration Store and Lync components.
2. Please make sure all Lync services are started.
3. Please also make sure the type of users is not Audio/video disabled.

Hi Thanara,
>make sure that you have A/V conferencing service started in windows services
Thanks for the hint and I restarted these services. I went to outlook and use the online meeting to create a new online meeting. When the user receives a online meeting invite by the URL, double click or click "join online meeeting" in Outlook, the video or audio is disabled as the previous image.
What else should I try to fix it?
> try "meet now" option in lync client and try adding several users.
Where is "meet now" option in lync client?
Thank you very much for your help.

I uncheck "Conferencing, which includes audio, video , and application sharing" in the topology and publish it and run the set up to remove conferencing
Then, check "Conferencing, which includes audio, video , and application sharing" in the topology and publish it and run the set up to add conferencing
still the same result audio and video is greyed out
no "Audio and Video" option in "Meeting options" of online meeting either
here is the global policy and users use this policy
Thank you for your continuing support.

Hi,
I would like to confirm if you added right clicked A/V conferencing pool and click ‘New A/V Conferencing Pool…’ or just right clicked on SE pool and checked “Conferencing, which includes audio, video…”. Please note that the A/V Conferencing Server is automatically collocated with the Standard Edition server when you select this option and you cannot use a stand-alone A/V Conferencing Server or pool on a Lync SE.
Please change the type of users as Enterprise Voice directly and make sure the Conferencing Policy you captured has been applied for the users.
