problem with office starter 2010

I bought an HP Pavilion g6 a few months ago. The Microsoft Office Starter 2010 which came preloaded was good. But now it doesn't open & shows a click-to-run configuration failure message.
my question: How do I repair it? please help

Hi fawreen,
- Open Control Panel
- Add/Remove Software
- Select from the list Office 2010 Starter and double click on it
- Select repair
It is a first step to resolve the issue. Usually, running repart helps to recover missing / broken office files and brings it back to normal status.

Thanks Bart. I just tried it & message showed it's been repaired but still the my word documents dont open, although I'm not getting the configuration failure message.

If you get a "cannot be opened" error like "Microsoft Word Starter 2010 cannot be opened", uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Office Starter 2010:
1. Click Start.
2. Type appwiz.cpl in start search box, and then press Enter.
3. Before going any further, make sure you see Microsoft Office 2010 in the list of installed programs. You'll need to use this program later to reinstall Office Starter 2010 on the computer.
4. Click Microsoft Office Starter 2010, and then click Uninstall.
5. Click Yes and follow the instructions to uninstall Office Starter 2010.
6. To reinstall Office Starter 2010, click Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office 2010.
7. Click Use.
8. And then click Open. This will re-install Office Starter 2010.
If the error continues to occur, you may have to do a full restore of the computer to reinstall Microsoft Office Starter 2010. We recommend you contact the computer manufacturer to talk about your options before you do this.

I went through the steps & uninstalled microsoft starter 2010. (didnt get the 'yes' but clicked on the uninstall) But to reinstall it, now I dont see the microsoft office 2010 in the all programs now. What did I do wrong now? Do I contact the store I bought it from?

Hi fawreen,
Yes. Please contact HP manufacturer by telephone for further support, Microsoft start 2010 was pre-install by OEM.

Hi,
You may find full installation files of Offce 2010 Start under c:\SWSetup folder or D: drive HP_Tools.
Otherwise as Willima suggest contact HP support

Hi Wiliam & everyone else who were so kind to try & help out. I have finally got Microsoft office home & business downloaded. It was simply though an email I received as a word document. I got a message saying since read or edit it I could download office 2010 (starter) for free. many thanks
