I purchased Office 2010 Professional Plus through my college. After inputting the activation key, the product itself works - I use it all the time. Recently I discovered that when I attempt to open links to documents from my school's website, such as the Word documents I need to complete my classes, I get a message that says I need to purchase or activate my Office software.

Again, this software is both installed and activated. I use it almost everyday. However, any documents I download from the web will not open without this message appearing. I entered my product key again, to see what would happen, and it said it was invalid. I can open and use these programs all day long, but for some reason I can't open Office files that I download.

Is this indicative of a problem in the installation somewhere, or what?

    Hi Shawas,

Please open the Control Panel and Programs and Features, check if there are any other version of Office products has been installed.

If you find any, make sure it is activated.

Or make sure to keep the Professional Plus version, and have the other version removed.
