Hi,
I have problem with one Windows 2003 machine, that i would like to move to Hyper-V (right now its on VMWare)
On SCVMM i just click P2V, i put IP address of that machine, put domain admin account etc, and on screen with "Scan system" button i got that message when i click it:
"VMM is unable to complete the request. The connection to the agent 10.10.0.53 was lost.
Ensure that the computer 10.10.0.53 exists on the network, WMI service and the agent are installed and running and that a firewall is not blocking HTTP and WMI traffic.
ID: 3157
Details: The RPC server is unavailable (0x800706BA)"On that server (Windows 2003) RPC, VSS, WMI, COM etc services are running, i have also disabled firewall.
There is no TCP/IP filtering.
I can ping that server without any problems, i can also access shares.
But, when i click "Scan system" i got that error on machine with Windows 2003:
"Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: Security
Event Category: Logon/Logoff
Event ID: 529
Date: 2011-02-15
Time: 13:54:29

Computer: COMP-XXXX
Description:

Caller Domain: -
Caller Logon ID: -
Caller Process ID: -
Transited Services: -
Source Network Address: 10.10.1.53

Thanks and regards
Marcin

Hello Marcin, Make sure that the source machine is running W2K3 SP2. Next, make sure that the account entered during the P2V wizard is indeed a local admin on the source machine. If this still fails, then I would copy the vmdk/vmx files into the VMM library and perform a V2V.
