When trying to access my computer from my computer through the network I get the error message: \\<COMPUTERNAME> is not accessible. You might not have permission to access this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The specified network provider name is invalid."

I am the administrator on this computer. I tried flushing the DNS, rebooting my router, deleting generic credentials, resetting the windows firewall to default policies, and disabled/renabled network discovery and file sharing, but none of that seemed to fix the problem.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

I am assuming that all the computers are in the same workgroup.

Nevertheless, do you have the Windows 7 system in a HomeGroup?  If so take it out of the HomeGroup.

If you do then only other sytems running Windows 7 and some versions of Vista (also in a HomeGroup) can network with each other.
