Dell T710
(2 Disks)Raid-1 Host - Direct - SQL (Data stored on Raid 5 Array?)
(2 Disks)Raid-1 Guest(1) - Bypass - Exchange (Data Stored on Raid Array?)
(6 Disks)Raid-5 Guest(2) - Fixed VHD - WSSv4 (40-80GB Project Management Sites, Low traffic)
(3) - Fixed VHD - Quickbook DB, Basic App server (low demand)
(4) - Fixed VHD - BDC, DFS Member, File Server (200GB=CAD(Revit 2010), Office Docs...10 users)
Guest (4) should the data be stored in a VHD or live on the array if not how do I access the host Raid-5 Array from the guest (4)?

Hi cyberaxe,
how do you mean "access the host RAID5 array" ?
If you want to use space from the RAID5 volume from host you can create dedicated volumes/disk which you then can present via passtrough (disk is offline from host view) to your VM or you create a volume/disk/partition on host system and create the required fixed VHD files directly on top of the volume/disk/partition as usuall.
More details around your storage cababilities can you find at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/tvoellm/archive/2008/09/24/what-hyper-v-storage-is-best-for-you-show-me-the-numbers.aspx and http://blogs.msdn.com/b/tvoellm/archive/2007/10/13/what-windows-server-virtualization-aka-viridian-storage-is-best-for-you.aspx
Here is a good whitepaper around the differences and performance of VHD files -> http://blogs.msdn.com/b/tvoellm/archive/2010/02/27/windows-server-2008-r2-virtual-hard-disk-vhd-performance-paper.aspx

Hi,
In Windows Server 2008 R2, the performance of the fixed VHD disk and the physical disk is slight, so you may consider using fixed VHD for your VMs. With fixed VHDs, you will get both performance and flexibility.
The following post discussed the similar issue, you can refer to:
