  • I think your error message exactly states what is wrong:

Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list.

You either are using a provider which has given you a dynamic ip address (home / sbs connection) which are usually blocked to prevent spam, or your provider (or you if you deliver directly) have been marked as a (potential) spammer.

Without more information there isnt really that much anyone can say on it.

  • You could also try creating a send connector for hotmail.com, live.com, hotmail.co.uk etc. and route it directly through to your ISP and specifying different hub servers if you have more than one. We have done this as we also encountered a problem with hotmail as above.

  • Any update?

The Error Codes # 550 SC-001 means the mail is rejected by Hotmail for policy reasons.

Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation.

The ISP is just as helpless as you are.Microsoft is just indiscriminately blocking sites. A fast googling shows tens of thousands of sites with this problem.

We have had the same IP for 5 years, problem came up this last month.

No spamming ever, we monitor mail logs, clean record everywhere else.

Hotmail is huge, so our SMTP-clients are naturally unhappy.

We are currently informing server clients that we are helpless towards the problem, and will publish a front-page link where we strongly recommend that people drop their hotmail address if they want to receive legitimate mail
